We just got back from New Orleans for the IMSH 2015 (International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare) conference which took place from January 10th-14th and boy was it a great turnout! We shook lot’s of hands, met with just about every booth and took in all of the sights and sounds of NOLA from Bourbon Street down to the Garden District and everything in between.[responsive_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-piOk3zpqg”]
We had several members of the team in attendance, you may have seen our marketing director Kris walking around with the GoPro, or you may have seen Michael (CHSOS Subcommittee Chair) in attendance for the speaking engagements. Either way, our booth had a great spot and we met lot’s of wonderful people who we hope to help in the future with our audio video simulation expertise.
Some of the highlights of the tradeshow for us were the awesome new technologies at several of the big players. CAE showed off their new Fidelis Lucina Maternal Fetal Simulator. With it’s high fidelity physiological modeling, it is the only childbirth simulator with validated maternal-fetal physiology. What this means is almost no intervention between instructor and learners in the simulation environment for a fully immersive simulated birthing scenario. The birthing simulator was developed in partnership with top educators and biomedical engineers ensuring no stone was un-turned in the development process. The attention to detail in the CAE equipment is easily acknowledged when seeing it in operation. Considered the “Cadillac” of fully automated simulators we were very impressed!
Speaking of impressed, did you get to stop by the Konsiderate booth while you were at IMSH? Konsiderate is one of the newest companies on the market and they are basically the “Yelp” of the simulation community. You can write reviews about companies (hint hint) view their offerings and services and even rate your experience. We have our own page listed on Konsiderate because we feel so strongly that this can only benefit the community going forward and we are happy to support such a cause. If you haven’t been over to Konsiderate yet, jump to our page via this link and while you are there feel free to leave us a review if you have worked with us, we love the extra support!
To wrap up our experience we wanted to send a thank you to SimGHOSTS for just about making us sick to our stomachs with their wonderful Oculous Rift (VR) technology. I don’t know if I had more fun on the rollercoaster or flying the Star Wars X-Wing but either way it was great to have them down the hall from us. Oh and did we mention we are the Platinum sponsor again this year for SimGHOSTS 2015? Even better the event held in August will be at one of our very own Simulation builds (Cedars Sinai Hospital) where we can show off our AV chops and showcase how we helped Cedars become one of the leading Simulation centers in North America.
Once again thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth at IMSH and took the time to learn a bit more about our AV work in simulation health care. We are passionate and excited about what the future holds for us and our potential customers. What a great time to be involved in the sim community! See you at IMSH 2016 in San Diego next year!
